Southeast European Police Envoys Meet in Sofia
|
A major international police conference of the South-East European countries opens Thursday in Sofia.
The conference is organized by Bulgarian Interior Ministry, National Police Directorate, "Legality and Professionalism of the Law Enforcement Bodies" foundation, "International Institute for Fighting Tactics" and "Hanns Seidel" foundation.
The forum is carried out under the aegis of Bulgaria's chief police officer Lieutenant-General Boyko Borissov.
Representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey, Croatia, as well as from Germany's provinces of Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg particiate the forum.
They will discuss issues unified under the name of "Regional police cooperation under conditions of globalization, organized crime and terrorism".
The opening of the conference will be attended by Bulgaria's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg, foreign police attaches to Bulgaria, and other guests.
Tactical groups from the SEPCA member countries will undergo theoretical training on fight with terrorism within the conference. Later they will enact in practice an anti-terrorist operation.
