The record sum was won with an ordinary lottery ticket for BGN 2.40.
The winner guessed the six lucky numbers from 1 to 49 - 5, 25, 28, 39, 46 θ 48, which were drawn shortly after 8 pm Thursday night to determine if there are any winners.
The jackpot of Toto 2 has not been won in 21 weeks.
A total of 1 200 789 tickets have been bought in the run-up to the jackpot hit, worth BGN 3 142 000.
The offices of the Bulgarian State Lottery Toto 2 extended their working hours as people from Bulgaria and the neighboring countries flocked to buy lottery tickets.
Romanian, Macedonian and Greek citizens came in droves to Bulgaria in order to purchase tickets for the lottery. The most expensive ticket worth BGN 5 005 has been bought in the capital Sofia.
The more one spends on a Toto ticket, the greater number of combinations they can fill in, which gives them a greater chance of winning.
Mathematicians have said a player's chances of winning the Bulgarian state lottery is one in three and a half million.
